The company integrates activities across a Research and Development Department responsible for innovating, an Engineering Department that delivers scaled iterations of bioreactors and bioprocess, and the Operations Department responsible for ensuring the company runs smoothly. What this role entails

You will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager as a small team.

The team will deliver the complete finance function for the whole business.

You will be exposed a general set of finance topics including but not limited to:
-
payment process’
-
preparing management accounts to help run the business,
-
ensuring the company is compliant with taxes,
-
financial modelling for exits, investor fundraising and company budgeting

Objectives
-
Passing the ACA ICAEW exams

Identify opportunities for cost savings
-
Report back on the company’s financial performance

Support the finance manager in running the finance function
Key Selection Criteria
1) Experience
Most likely you will have an undergraduate or masters degree in accounting and finance, or you will have some other demonstrable desire to become an ICAEW chartered.
2) Delivering for an organisation
You will have examples either through work experience, or university group working to demonstrate that you have contributed towards a group project or delivering a piece of work to a deadline.
3) Team working
Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a small team, you will be sharing responsibilities and expected to coauthor and collaborate on many diverse work pieces
4) Expertise
Essential:
You will have a desire to develop expertise within the accounting and finance field, it is critical that you wish to learn across a broad range of financial topics. This role will expose you to UK Corporation Tax, VAT, Payroll taxes, Payment Management, Internal Audit, Statutory Accounts, Management Accounting, Financial Modelling, Investment fundraising and soft skills such as influencing, communicating and presenting data.
Desirable:
Experience using Xero as an accounting ledger
Some coding experience (Python in Excel or Power query M formula language)

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete an excel based financial modelling/forecasting task to be completed by 7th October.
Candidates successful at this stage will be invited on site to give a presentation and have an in person interview on 15th October.
